Spring hasn’t even arrived yet, and the fashion world is already looking forward to fall. Pantone recently released its Fall 2017 Fashion Color Report, a semi-annual rundown of the top 10 trending colors in clothes, jewelry and accessories for the coming season. The colors serve as a touchstone throughout the season for retailers and fashionistas alike.
According to Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, “the color palette for Fall 2017 leans more to warmth.” It also pairs “classic autumnal shades” like plum and navy with more unexpected hues for the season, like pale pink and bright blue.
Here are the hottest colors for the upcoming fall season and the jewelry to wear with them.
At the top of the Pantone’s list is Grenadine, a strong warm red they describe as a confident and self-assured attention-getter. When you’re wearing this stand-out color, opt for neutral diamonds or pearls. If you’re looking for something a little more eye-catching, go with a dramatic black onyx necklace or ruby ring.
Navy serves as the perfect backdrop for all kinds of gems and metals, including emeralds, jade, peridot, sapphires, citrine, topaz, turquoise, pearls, yellow gold and platinum.
Rose quartz, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, turquoise, pearls and white gold all play well with Neutral Gray.
Citrine, emeralds and yellow gold jewelry go best with this rich, dark plum shade.
Ballet Slipper, Butterum and Autumn Maple
Pair these soft, neutral shades with the bright colors of peridot and blue topaz for a perfectly balanced fall look.
Shaded Spruce and Golden Lime
These beautiful greens pair stunningly with yellow gold, rubies, sapphires, pink sapphires and pink tourmaline.
Like its navy blue counterpart, Marina goes with just about everything, including pearls, pink sapphires, pink topaz, rubies, emeralds, peridot, sapphires, turquoise, yellow gold and platinum.
If you’re looking to add a little color to your fall wedding ensemble, jewelry is the perfect place to do it.
If you’re looking for your “something blue,” try choosing something in Marina or Navy Peony by looking for sapphire, blue opal, blue topaz and turquoise.
The greens, Shaded Spruce and Golden Lime, can be incorporated with emeralds, green garnets and peridot.
Grenadine, the sizzling red shade, can be worn as ruby and garnet.
Ballet Slipper translates to opal, pearl and rose quartz, while amethyst and spinel represent Tawny Port.
The buttery browns of Butterum and Autumn Maple can be found in more unusual gems, such as citrine.
Pearls, moonstone and mother of pearl round out the offerings in Neutral Gray.
